A private home for much of the year, Uda Kanda is unlike any other villa in Sri Lanka. Decorated as a family home rather than a holiday rental villa, the property stands on a hilltop, in a private 3.5 acre estate. Uda Kanda is undoubtedly one the most relaxing places to be found anywhere in Sri Lanka. With its infinity pool, its views stretching as far as the Indian Ocean to the west, and to the distant, emerald-green hills to the north, guests are immediately transported to an idyllic paradise. Far removed from the hectic excitement of the island’s beaches, the villa is home to an infinite array of wildlife, with an abundance of colourful exotic birds that swoon and swoop around the garden and the pool all hours of the day. And while you relax on the shaded terrace, let our team of charming staff pander to your every need, from creating Western culinary masterpieces or spicy local specialities, to making freshly prepared fruit cocktails, or even giving you pampering massages as the sun slowly sets on another perfect day.

Bedrooms:

The three individually decorated bedrooms can either be used as large double rooms or as twin rooms.  Alternatively we can convert the third bedroom in to a four-bed bunk room for children to increase the capacity of the house to 4+4. They each have en-suite bathrooms and private, outdoor seating areas on the surrounding terrace. The Master bedroom also has an adjoining study. All rooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.

Bathrooms:

The bathrooms are all western-style and en-suite, with twin wash basins, power showers, hot water, and supplied with soap, shampoo and other toiletries.

Kitchen:

Our wonderful staff will be delighted to cook gorgeous dishes for you! But if you insist, we also have a fully stocked kitchen, with gas hobs, convection oven, fridge/freezer, and a separate wine fridge, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, water dispenser, blender, Magimix etc.

Living Rooms:

A vast living and dining area, with comfortable sofas, high-vaulted ceiling, and cooling fans. Stunning polished concrete floor. The space is open on two sides, allowing the gentle, omnipresent breeze to permeate the room and keep you comfortably cool, iPod/MP3 player-friendly Hi-fi. Books and games.

Miscellaneous:

The comfortable television room has a 32″ TV, DVD player, hi-fi, satellite TV, a media player with over 1,000 films, series and documentaries, and even a grand piano!

Towels/Linen/ Housekeeping/Maid service:

All our linen and towels are made from 100% pure cotton and are included in the rental price. They are changed every three to four days. The villa is cleaned daily by our full-time staff; your beds are made and your rooms are tidied.
